As the Marie et Marcelle activity continues to expand, we are looking for talented chefs to join the team on a freelance or part-time basis.

This is a hands-on role, perfect for self-starter and passionate individuals with a strong interest for French-inspired and seasonal food. The chefs will work closely with Pauline - the Owner - to deliver good quality food across all of our service lines. Some weeks may be busier than others depending on the orders and events schedule, therefore some level of flexibility is required. 

We have access to a small urban garden where we grow some produce throughout the year - an interest to get involved with growing fruits and vegetables would be a plus. 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Supporting Pauline with the weekly production and menu development. When she is not around the kitchen, you will confidently step up and work independently
  • Leading food preparation for corporate orders and events
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety. Assisting with record keeping
  • Assisting with stock control and ordering
  • Attending off-site events when required

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong CDP ready to step up
  • Background in catering, events or restaurants
  • Calm, organised and comfortable working with limited supervision and to set timelines
  • Passion for French food, working with seasonal ingredients and gardening
  • A collaborative, positive attitude
  • Flexible availability (occasional evening events might be required)
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 minimum (Level 3 a bonus)
  • Right to work in the UK
